Internet service providers

The average Internet user accesses the web by means of a dial up connection or most recently with a broadband connection like ADSL. This is the means by which your computer connects, via a modem or router, to your service provider (M-web, Polka, Telkom, etc) and which allows you to visit websites, use a search engine, do your banking online, catch up with the latest news, etc.

It is not essential to use the same service provider for your Internet access and for hosting your website; in fact Internet service providers are usually not geared towards the needs of their hosting clients or are very expensive when it comes to hosting.
